January 25, 1793

[1/23, 24] The intersection is named to commemorate the French Revolution. The ceremony includes a banquet at a table that stretches from the Old State House to Kilby Street, the roasting of a 1,000-pound ox, the placing its horns at the top of a 60-foot “liberty pole,” and a 15-gun salute.
